Dear Parents,
It has been an exciting week!  Our class has had a fun time talking about and reliving the big Chiefs Super Bowl win!

Third Quarter Mission Project
Our third quarter mission project is underway! We are supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by participating in their Pennies for Patients Program!   All the students have money collection boxes and letters that explain how to get donations online. It’s not too late to give. We are collecting money until next Friday, February 14.   

Important Dates in February
Thursday and Friday, February 13 and 14 - 1:00 dismissal.  Parent/Teacher/Student conferences
Monday, February 17 Presidents’ Day - We are having school. We will be using this day to make-up the snow day we missed.
Wednesday, February 26 - Ash Wednesday. Services at Timothy’s RD Mize campus at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm.

Here’s what’s happening in our classroom:
·         7th / 8th Grade Religion -   We are watching“The Bible”.   We have watched the first two episodes.  We left off today with the Israelites in the wilderness.        Memory for next week:  Tuesday and Friday- The Nicene Creed.
·         7th Grade Math - We are working in a unit over ratios, proportions, and percent.  This week we did proportion word problems and used proportions in blueprints and maps.
·         Algebra - We are finishing up the chapter “Linear Functions and Relations”.
·          7th/8th Grade Science  - We are working in chapter 7, learning about bacteria.  We will have a test over this chapter on Friday.   
News from Mrs. Otte:
 In ELA we began a new book A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park.  In Geography we are studying Southern Europe.  In Art we made a collage.
